Muckle Toon Geocache

The global treasure hunt.

The Muckle Toon Geocache Cluster

Take part in the real-world global treasure hunt.

Using GPS, you will be searching the hills and valleys of the beautiful Muckle Toon,
logging your finds and drinking in the views.

What is Geocaching?

“Geocaching” is the worldwide outdoor GPS treasure hunt in which participants follow coordinates to find hidden “caches” anywhere in the world.

A typical cache is a small waterproof container containing a logbook as well as other personal or sentimental items other Geocachers have chosen to share.

The rules are simple: Find the Cache, Record your find in the logbook, return the cache to its original position and head off to find some more.

If you chose to “trade” something from the cache you must remove the small item you wish to keep and replace it with another similarly small item.

Getting Started

The only necessities are a GPS device or a GPS-enabled mobile phone so that you can navigate to the cache, and a Free Basic Membership

At its simplest level, geocaching requires these 8 steps:

  1. Register for a free Basic Membership on the world wide geocaching website
  2. Visit the Hide & Seek a Cache page.
  3. Enter your postal code and click “search.”
  4. Choose any geocache from the list and click on its name.
  5. Enter the coordinates of the geocache into your GPS Device.
  6. Use your GPS device to assist you in finding the hidden geocache.
  7. Sign the logbook and return the geocache to its original location.
  8. Share your geocaching stories and photos online.

The Active Root bakers have been at work 😜 and we’ve created @active_root 🦊 ginger biscuits 🍪! They taste great! All #natural , #glutenfree and #vegan . Get involved! Recipe - 110g margarine - 110g Active Root powder - 110g treacle - gently heat together in a medium sized pan until liquified. Allow to cool a bit. Weigh 235g of gluten free white flour and mix 2 tea spoons of baking powder in. Pour flour into the liquid already in the pan. Mix into a dough with a spatula. Shape approx 16 balls of dough on a greased baking tray. Space out balls with gaps so they have room to spread out 😄. Bake for 15mins at 180 degrees. Check half way through that they’re not burning! ☄️Then voila! You have your perfect 👌 @active_root ginger biscuit. Crunchy, tangy and gingery. Ideal for long bike rides or just dunked in coffee! Check out the final photo to see how happy these biscuits can make you! 😂
