The MTAF Cycle Sportive series has been revamped for 2018 and will include a processional mass start from Basecamp at 8.30am. The atmosphere will be fantastic and if you feel you can complete the 100 mile route by 5pm then make sure you take part in the procession. For those however wanting to start the route earlier entrants to the MTAF 100 are able to register from 7am and commence the route from 7.30am should you wish to give yourself a little extra time to complete the challenge.
The Route: The MTAF 100 heads north-west exploring the rugged terrain of Dumfries and Galloway towards the picturesque market town of Moffat. Beyond Moffat you’re into a series of classic and challenging road climbs including The Devils Beeftub, Talla and The Squire before descending back towards the Muckle Toon through the gorgeous winding Eskdale valley.
Three feed stations on route will keep you well-fuelled, however we advise all cyclists to carry supplementary energy bars and fluids in case of emergencies.
